Grading Implications: What to Watch Out For

The release of a new set like DRAGON BALL FUSION WORLD BOOSTER PACK FB09 – A Set Built Around always brings new challenges for graders. Here are some specific areas to focus on:

Print Quality

New sets can sometimes exhibit variations in print quality. Look out for common issues such as:

• Misprints: Errors in the printing process can significantly affect a card's value, especially if the misprint is unique or visually appealing.
• Centering Issues: According to PSA's official grading standards, proper centering is crucial for achieving a high grade. Use MasterGrade's centering tool to quickly evaluate this.
• Surface Imperfections: Scratches, dents, or other surface imperfections can negatively impact a card's grade.

Rarity and Pull Rates

Understanding the rarity tiers within FB09 is essential. Certain cards will be significantly more difficult to pull than others, making them more valuable and desirable to collectors. Low population reports in the future will drive prices.

Card Condition

As with any new set, it's important to carefully inspect your cards for any signs of damage:

• Edges: Look for any signs of whitening or wear along the edges of the card.
• Corners: Check for rounded or blunted corners.
• Surface: Examine the surface of the card for any scratches, dents, or other imperfections.

Concrete Example: Potential FB09 Chase Card

Let's imagine DRAGON BALL FUSION WORLD BOOSTER PACK FB09 – A Set Built Around introduces a new Super Rare (SR) card featuring Gogeta. Based on past performance of similar cards, a PSA 10 graded version of this Gogeta SR could potentially fetch $500-$800 at auction by Q1 2026, assuming the card is highly sought after and the population report remains low. Raw versions in near mint condition could range from $50-$150. Use the pack ROI calculator to help determine if you should buy more packs or just buy the single you want.
