Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

  • Account information — email address and name when you sign up (via email or Google OAuth)
  • Card images — images you upload for grading. Uploaded images are processed in memory and are not permanently stored on our servers beyond the grading session.
  • Grade results — grading data (card name, grade, sub-scores, images) are stored in our database associated with your account if you are logged in. Guest users (not logged in) do not have grades stored server-side.
  • Collection data — cards you add to your personal collection, stored server-side under your account.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or bank details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Push notification tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens stored to deliver grade alerts and account notifications. You can revoke these from your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate AI card grading results from your uploaded images
  • To store your grade history and collection under your account
  • To send transactional emails (signup verification, password resets, grade notifications)
  • To send push notifications if you opt in via Firebase
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the service
  • To improve and debug MasterGrade

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Logged-in users: Your account data — including grading history, credits, Pro subscription status, and any cards you save — is stored on our servers and synced across your devices. Card images are processed temporarily during grading and deleted immediately; they are never permanently stored.

Guest users:If you use MasterGrade without signing in, grade results may be saved in your browser's localStorage as a local convenience. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. It can be cleared any time by clearing your browser data.

Note: localStorage is a local cache for guest convenience, not the source of truth. If you are logged in, your authoritative grade history lives on our servers. Signing in after using the service as a guest will not restore locally-saved grades.

4. Cookies

We use minimal session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Session cookies are automatically cleared when you log out.

6. Data Retention

Grade history, collection data, and account information are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@mastergrade.ai. We will delete all personal data within 30 days of a verified deletion request.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. API endpoints are protected by session authentication. While no service is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your data including encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.

8. Children's Privacy

MasterGrade is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a user under 13 has registered without parental consent, we will delete their account and all associated data.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@mastergrade.ai. We will respond to all verifiable requests within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of MasterGrade after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
