Ravensburger Reveals New Details for Disney Lorcana Collector Boosters: what it means for collectors

Ravensburger has just dropped significant news regarding the highly anticipated Disney Lorcana Collector Boosters for the upcoming Shimmering Skies set, sparking immediate discussion and re-evaluation among collectors and investors. This announcement, detailed by ComicBook.com, reveals a pivotal shift in the contents of these premium packs, directly impacting grading strategies, sealed product investment, and the overall hunt for high-value cards. Understanding these new details for Disney Lorcana Collector Boosters is crucial for anyone looking to navigate the evolving landscape of this burgeoning TCG.

This timely update, hot off the presses, necessitates a complete re-think of how collectors approach Shimmering Skies. Gone are the days of guaranteed Enchanted cards within Collector Boosters, a change that redefines the chase and the value proposition of different product types. For MasterGrade users, this means a recalibration of grading targets and an increased emphasis on precise pre-screening to maximize returns.

The Announcement: What Exactly Changed?

According to the recent report from ComicBook.com, Ravensburger has confirmed that Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies Collector Boosters will fundamentally differ from their predecessors, specifically the Into the Inklands Collector Boosters. The most critical change is the absence of a guaranteed Enchanted card in Shimmering Skies Collector Boosters.

To put this into perspective:

• Into the Inklands Collector Boosters included one Enchanted card, three foil cards of Rare or higher rarity, eight non-foil cards, and a foil common or uncommon card. This made them a prime target for those solely focused on pulling the highest rarity chase cards.
• Shimmering Skies Collector Boosters, however, will not contain Enchanted cards. Instead, they will focus heavily on a higher volume of premium foils. Each Shimmering Skies Collector Booster will contain:
• 3 foil cards of Rare or higher rarity
• 3 foil cards of Common or Uncommon rarity
• 3 foil cards of any rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, or Storyborn/Dreamborn/Floodborn)
• 3 non-foil cards of any rarity

This means that while the overall count of foil cards has significantly increased—from 4-5 foils in Into the Inklands Collector Boosters to a guaranteed 9 foils in Shimmering Skies—the top-tier Enchanted rarity will now be exclusively found in regular Shimmering Skies booster packs. This strategic shift moves the Collector Booster's value proposition from "guaranteed top-tier chase" to "high volume of diverse foils."

Who is Affected, and How?

This change impacts various segments of the Disney Lorcana collecting community differently, requiring a strategic pivot for many.

Dedicated Enchanted Chasers

For collectors whose primary goal is to acquire Enchanted rarity cards, the path has completely shifted. Shimmering Skies Collector Boosters are no longer the product to target.

• Impact: You must now focus your efforts and investment on regular Shimmering Skies booster packs and boxes to have a chance at pulling an Enchanted card. This increases the overall volume of packs you might need to open and potentially shifts demand towards sealed regular booster boxes.
• Consequence: Expect increased competition for regular sealed product, which could influence secondary market prices for Shimmering Skies booster boxes compared to Collector Boosters.
